For the inaugural year the historical 1969 conversation The Black Artist in America: A Symposium was restaged with seven actors, originally held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the occasion of the exhibition Harlem on My Mind: Cultural Capital of Black America 1900-1968.
On the occasion of the first convening the publication [B.A.R.] WRITTEN was assembled. Contributions from Romi Crawford, Marren Hassinger, Eliza Myrie, Hamza Walker, and Sarah Workneh.
